What Are Dermal Fillers?

What Are Dermal Fillers Made Of?

Fillers in the JUVÉDERM and Restylane families are made of hyaluronic acid (HA), a hydrating natural substance that attracts water and naturally dissolves over time. These products come in various thicknesses to target different areas of the face.

We also use Sculptra®, which contains poly-L-lactic acid and helps your body build its own collagen over time. It’s amazing for cheeks and for combatting significant facial volume loss.

Dermal fillers are highly versatile. While most people think of lip injections or cheek augmentation when they think of fillers, there are lots of different changes you can make with them. At Amélie, we offer the following menu of dermal filler services:

If you have permanent horizontal lines on your neck from staring downward at a computer all day, dermal fillers can reduce them. 

What Should I Expect During My Dermal Filler Treatment?

Filler treatments at Amélie typically last no longer than an hour. After talking over your goals with you, your experienced injector will carefully place the filler under your skin with a few quick injections. Then you’re done!

Be Real With Me: Do Dermal Filler Injections Hurt?

When you arrive at your appointment, the team will give you numbing medication and ice to make sure you don’t feel uncomfortable during your treatment. They’ll also use distraction techniques to make the appointment go by quickly.

What Is Recovery Like After Dermal Fillers?

You’ll be free to jump back into your routine right away, though you may have some bruising, swelling, or redness around your injection sites for 1 to 2 weeks. We recommend booking your filler appointment at least 14 days before any big events where you’d like to show off your results.

How Long Do Dermal Fillers Last?

Depending on the product, you can expect your results to last 9 months to 2 years. Your volume will gradually dissipate, and when you’re ready for another boost, you can come back in and see us for your next treatment!
